We have chosen to rear breeds that are not commonly found on commercial farms – Longhorn cattle, Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs, Lleyn and Wiltshire Horn sheep. Known as ‘rare breeds’ their origins go back a long way, and some have even been on the point of extinction.
At Cwrt Henllys Farm we are dedicated to rearing, healthy, contented livestock. Our cattle, sheep, pigs, seasonal turkeys and geese are raised on fresh green pasture in the summer, and are kept cosy and dry indoors in the winter.
The welfare of our animals is paramount, and absolutely no compromises are made on feeds. We don’t use any artificial growth promoters or unnecessary antibiotics, and to avoid stress we keep to a routine of feeding and bedding down.
