About Us

The Morgan family has farmed at Cwrt Henllys for three generations.

The first member was Cyril Morgan who was a tenant of the then owners the Tredegar Estate. He was followed by his son Keith who lives next door and still helps run the farm.

Today it is owned by us - Chris and Ceri Morgan and our young son Reuben who just loves helping us with the animals.

Cwrt Henllys farm now comprises of 250 acres of mainly permanent pasture with around 20 acres of woodland. The farm is stocked with a herd of pedigree Longhorn cattle, Gloucester Old Spot pigs, and Lleyn and Wiltshire horn sheep; with a few turkeys and geese reared for the Christmas market.

Overlooking the ancient church of St Peters in the village of Henllys, the farmhouse is grade II listed and dates back to the 14th century. Its name (Cwrt Henllys – old court) is derived from its past as the parish court.

We are in the process of restoring much of the farmhouse, sympathetically combining the building’s ancient past with the facilities needed for a modern home.

The care we are taking in the restoration goes hand in hand with our whole farm ethos – to rear happy, healthy animals in a traditional and environmentally friendly way and producing meat of the highest quality and taste.
